White Chocolate Candy Cane Rice Krispie Treats – Ooey gooey, classic Rice Krispie treats with an extra sweet white chocolate touch and candy cane crunch.
These Rice Krispie Treats are a super easy, no-bake holiday dessert or snack. I can’t say that Rice Krispie Treats are the first thing I think of when I want to make something sweet, but after trying these, I will definitely be making them more often now. They are so underrated! Especially when they are perfectly gooey and have some fun add-ins like white chocolate and crushed candy cane!
These come together so quick and only require a few ingredients. Here’s what you’ll need…
What you will need
Crispy Rice Cereal – Any brand will work. I like using Rice Krispies, which also have a brown rice gluten-free option!
Marshmallows
White Chocolate Chips – You will need these to mix right into the treats as well as to drizzle on top.
Crushed Candy Cane – To crush my candy canes, I place them in a ziploc bag and bang them with a rolling pin! You can also pulse them in a food processor.
Vanilla extract
Unsalted Butter
How to make White Chocolate Candy Cane Rice Krispie Treats
Grease and line an 8×8 inch square pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
I like using a square pan for nice and thick, Rice Krispie Treats. You can also use a 9×13 inch pan for thinner treats.
In a medium sized sauce pan over medium heat, melt the butter, 1 cup of white chocolate chips and marshmallows. Be sure to constantly stir the mixture.
Once everything is melted, add the vanilla extract.
Add the Rice Krispies and gently stir until they are coated.
Remove from heat and add 1/2 cup of the crushed candy cane. Stir to combine.
Pour into the lined pan and gently press down. Chill in the fridge for 1 hour.
Once chilled, remove from the pan by lifting out with the sides of the parchment paper.
Melt the remaining 1/2 cup of white chocolate chips in the microwave in 15 second increments.
Using a spoon or a squeeze bottle, drizzle the white chocolate over the Rice Krispie Treats. Sprinkle the remaining half cup of crushed candy cane over top.
Let the white chocolate set before cutting into squares. You can speed up this process by popping it back in the fridge for 15 minutes.
